Finding healthy chocolate treats at the grocery store can be tough – so here’s a great recipe that will nourish your body and soul.
This flavorful dark chocolate nut bar is full of good-for-you brain compounds found in dark chocolate and nuts and chia.
You can expect a nice serving of omega-3 fats and memory-boosting compounds in this yummy treat.
You also get a nice antioxidant punch with goji berries, cinnamon, and cayenne.
It also boast 3 grams of fiber (awesome!!) per serving that you won’t find in commercial milk chocolate bars.
Serves 4
Ingredients
Cooking spray (preferably coconut oil or avocado oil)
1 cup assorted nuts, chopped
½ cup goji berries
12 ounces 70% dark chocolate (2 cups)
pinch of cinnamon and cayenne
2 tablespoons chia seeds
Directions
Coat an 8×8 baking dish with wax paper.
Spray the top of the wax paper with cooking spray.
Spread nuts and goji berries on paper.
Place the chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat and warm 2 to 3 minutes, stirring well until melted. Add cinnamon and cayenne to chocolate and mix.
Pour chocolate over the nuts and gojis, smooth the top with a spatula.
Sprinkle with the chia and refrigerate at least 1 hour until firm.
